THE PROCESS

Swim ready in three visits

Visit 01

Water removal

After an assessment we will install our submersible pump to a sewerage line keeping mess to a bare minimum.

Visit 02

Pressure, acid wash and refill

We use both high pressure water blasting along with acid etching to clean your pool surface so it looks brand new.

Visit 03

Water chemistry balance

Once your pool is full, we will return to add chemicals and ensure it is safe for swimming.

Our process

Five steps. No surprises.

We work the same way on every green-pool job — diagnose, treat, vacuum, polish, hand back. Here's what each step actually looks like.

What is acid washing?

What is acid washing?

Acid washing is a deep restoration treatment for pools that have stains, mineral scale, algae build-up, or surface discolouration that regular cleaning can't lift.

The pool is drained, the interior surfaces are pressure cleaned, and a controlled acid solution is applied to remove the top microscopic layer of plaster, pebble or tile — taking the stains with it.

The result - A surface that looks brand new!

The result - A surface that looks brand new!

The pool is then refilled and chemically rebalanced.
It's not something every pool needs, and it's not something to do often — done right, an acid wash should set your pool up for the next 5 to 10 years.

Signs your pool needs an acid wash.

Signs your pool needs an acid wash.

  • Stains that don't shift with normal cleaning or shock dosing
  • A grey, yellow, brown or green tinge across the pool surface
  • Visible scale or calcium build-up at the waterline
  • The pool has been left untreated, empty, or unused for an extended period
  • Black spot or stubborn algae returning after every clean
  • You've had the pool for 8+ years and it's never been restored

Common questions

From your first booking to swimming again, expect around 5 days. The work itself is three visits — we will usually space visits 1 to 3 days apart depending on refill speed and weather.
Done correctly, no. Acid washing removes a microscopic layer of your pool's interior, which is how it lifts stains. Done too often or with too strong a solution, it can shorten the life of your surface — which is why we use the minimum strength needed and don't recommend acid washing more than every 5 to 10 years.
In most cases yes, but not always. That's exactly what Visit 01 confirms. Some pools, in some ground conditions, can shift or pop when fully drained — we check this before we drain anything.
Fibreglass pools generally should not be acid washed the same way as plaster or pebble pools. We'll confirm your surface type at the assessment and recommend the right treatment.
You'll be refilling your pool, so yes, there's a one-off cost for refill water. However on average, the cost of the water is under $200 for most pools.
